THE TROUBLE WITH ASIAN MEN

Theatre with post-performance Q&A

13-14th October 2006

Created by Sudha Bhuchar, Kristine Landon-Smith and Louise Wallinger uses the verbatim theatre technique.  Live interviews were conducted with a variety of individuals.  These were taped and then edited into a 'script' by the creative team.  During the performance the 4 actors wear headphones through which the taped 'script' is played and perform the words exactly as they are hearing them, with all the freshness, rhythms and quirky imperfections of human speech.  The result of using this technique is a fantastic cross between impersonation and an actor's clever characterisation that is both funny and moving.
