SCRIPT/RAW EDGE MONOLOGUE COMPETITION - READ THE WINNING MONOLOGUES HERE

Two monologues have been chosen as joint winners and are published in the latest issue of Raw Edge as well as being available to read here on our website.

The winners are:

'Peep Behind the Curtain' by Di Neoh Click Here to read it.

'A Cake for Johnners' by Benjamin Smith. Click Here to read it.

There were three other shortlisted monologues: Deborah Catesby's 'Samson and Delilah', Stephen Jackson's 'Life's a Funny Thing' and 'Justice' by Rosalind Fox.

Script teamed up with Raw Edge Magazine to run a ten minute monologue competition celebrating 10 years of publication of Raw Edge.

We received well over 100 entries for the competition. All entries were first commented on by a team of readers whose reports were read alongside the monologues by four judges.

The judges were, for Script, Managing Director Peggy Paterson and Programmes Director Sibyl Ruth; for Raw Edge Magazine, editor Dave Reeves; and the playwright Fraser Grace. Fraser's monologue 'Gifts of War' toured nationally during 2005 and his play 'Breakfast with Mugabe' is currently being performed in London as part of the RSC's second New Work Festival.

Thanks to all those who entered and congratulations to the five named above.
